New REPP Academy for on-grid developers to be held virtually
Following the success of last year’s inaugural REPP Academy for REPP-supported off-grid project developers, a virtual version of the training programme has been set up for on-grid investees.
Taking place in October, REPP Academy 2020 is designed to help the REPP investees fulfil their business plans and deliver power across countries in Africa.
It is being hosted by REPP’s investment manager, Camco Clean Energy, and will welcome representatives from Rift Valley Energy, Gigawatt Global, Kalahari GeoEnergy, Virunga Power, Gaia Energy and Buffalo Energy.
Over the course of the two-week event, members of the REPP team will work directly with the project developers to explore methods to improve and build upon current business practices to successfully advance projects towards reaching financial close. It will also provide an opportunity to share experiences during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, and discuss ways of navigating the impacts of the virus over the months ahead.
The tailored training event will include a mix of short presentations, group discussions, one-on-one meetings with peers and the REPP team, and networking opportunities with different types of investors. Topics covered will include aspects of risk assessment and mitigation, financial structuring and fundraising, legal aspects and impact management.
Investors interested in attending the networking part of the event are invited to contact Ieva Indriunaite at ieva@camco.energy.
