Dear <<First Name>>

Camco is committed to supporting the drive towards gender equality across the clean energy sector and beyond. A vital part of achieving equality requires the private sector, governments and funders all working together and building on each other’s experiences.

On Wednesday, we will be co-hosting an online forum with 2X Collaborative that will be exploring what can and needs to be done to ensure women are at the forefront developing the renewable energy sectors in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

As in any part of the world, women in SIDS have a critical role in ensuring an energy future that is clean, fair and sustainable – as well as for building the islands’ resilience to climate change. But significant barriers exist that are making it harder for women in SIDS to participate in the renewable energy sector, whether as company leaders and entrepreneurs or as employees.

Improving stakeholders’ understanding of these key issues – as well as how women can be best served by the sector as end-users – will be the primary focus of Wednesday’s forum.

We are delighted to have His Excellency Chad Blackman, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Barbados to the UN in Geneva as our keynote speaker. Ambassador Blackman is the Chair of the UNCTAD Geneva SIDS Group and a UN International Gender Champions Global Board Member, which makes him excellently placed to speak with authority on the forum’s theme.

The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion with industry and gender experts, and will conclude with a Q&A with the audience. For more info on the event and speakers, please click here

The 90-minute forum runs from 9:00am – 10:30am PDT / 6.00pm - 7.30pm CET. Register here to save your seat now.

Cheers
