Dear <<First Name>>

Happy New Year!

This is our first proper newsletter for a few weeks, so I hope you will enjoy this bumper edition covering the biggest developments.

A multi-stakeholder position paper on how to improve the bankability of Nigeria’s mini-grid policy and regulatory framework was published late last year. UK FCDO-funded REPP and Camco led the preparation of the paper in collaboration with REAN, AMDA and multiple private sector players.

A 400kWp solar installation was completed at one of Coca-Cola's oldest bottling companies in Kenya, funded by Camco-managed Spark Energy Services. The installation is expected to generate ~600MWh of renewable energy a year, avoid more than 8,000 tonnes of GHG emissions, and provide a like-for-like reduction in Coastal Bottlers’ power costs of over 25%.

And we were delighted to see REPP investee Virunga Power secure a USD50 million investment from Gridworks Development Partners, the UK government-backed investor in Africa’s electricity networks. As an early-stage investor in Virunga Power, Camco-managed REPP helped the company to grow to the point where it was able to secure this pivotal investment that will now enable it to deliver on its exciting expansion plans.  This is a great success story where UK Government-funded facilities have helped to develop and now scale a really impactful local business.

2023 looks set to be another big year for Camco and our partners, and I look forward to bringing you the latest developments along the way.

Cheers

Geoff Sinclair

Managing Director, Camco
