Dear <<First Name>>

The Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP), managed by Camco, published its latest quarterly impact report this morning, providing a quantitative and qualitative overview of how REPP and the projects and companies it supports are continuing to deliver transformative impact in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Highlights include:

  • A 10% increase in the number of people connected to electricity for the first time, bringing the total to over 793,000
  • Over 7,500 tonnes of greenhouse gases avoided as a result of REPP-supported projects during the quarter, with just under 40,000 tonnes avoided to date
  • USD 3.9m committed to REPP investees over the period, and USD 22m mobilised from third parties as a direct result of REPP interventions
  • Nearly 3,000 full-time jobs created in the year to date.

With the world’s attention on COP26 in Glasgow, the report demonstrates just some of the amazing things that are already being achieved with the UK’s generous climate finance commitments, and a cause for optimism that the world can come together to limit heating to 1.5℃.

And don’t forget, you can keep up with our take on the major developments as they happen on our LinkedIn and Twitter accounts or search #CAMCOP26.

Cheers

Geoff Sinclair
