Dear <<First Name>>

Women are central to enabling a sustainable, just and inclusive energy transition. But whether they be energy entrepreneurs or customers, women are too often getting a raw deal when it comes to accessing the finance and support they need to build their businesses or purchase the time-saving electrical appliances that would significantly improve their lives.

The excellent 2X Challenge has made notable inroads into increasing investments to support women around the world, but the fourth of its criteria for gender lens investing - “products or services that specifically or disproportionately benefit women” - is still not getting the level of funding it requires and deserves.

To address this and other related challenges, Camco has teamed up with 2X Collaborative, the leading industry body for gender lens investing that was formed on the back of 2X Challenge, to host two online forums aiming to:

  • raise awareness of the importance of providing products and services that specifically support women
  • share practical experiences and facilitate mutual knowledge development
  • strengthen public-private collaboration with a focus on gender mainstreaming in the energy sector, and
  • provide networking opportunities to further strengthen the 2X gender lens investing community.

The first forum will focus on the African market and is being held on Wednesday, 9 February, with the second taking place on Wednesday, 9 March and focusing on Small Island Development States (SIDS).

Cheers
