Dear <<First Name>>

Happy New Year!

I think we would all agree that 2020 was a fairly extraordinary year and one that many of us would probably rather forget. COVID-19 turned life on its head, resulting in more than 1.5 millions deaths to date, as well as restrictions to people’s personal freedoms the likes of which most of us had never experienced before.

But if there is anything the pandemic has taught us, it is that we as humans are resilient and resourceful and that when the going gets tough, we can work together to achieve remarkable things. Coping with the challenge of global warming is surely within our grasp!

Alongside its wake of destruction, COVID-19 has presented a golden opportunity to welcome in a new era that puts people and planet first. As the world’s economies prepare to bounce back from the impact of the virus, the need for a green recovery that “builds back better” has become a rallying cry of many political leaders and leading economists.

No one knows quite what 2021 will bring for the world - but whatever it is, it’s going to be interesting.

Cheers

Geoff
