Dear <<First Name>>

Did you know, Sub-Saharan Africa’s commercial and industrial sector (C&I) makes up 75% of power demand in the region and that that demand is expected to double between 2020 and 2040? For countries to meet their climate objectives, it is therefore critical that their continued economic growth and prosperity is achieved without a correlating growth in emissions.

But the energy challenge doesn’t end there. Some C&I businesses – particular in rural areas - still lack access to power at all, and many of those that do have access are having to cope with unreliable and expensive power. This is holding back development and opportunities for job creation.

In response to this, Camco has created Spark Energy Services, an energy financing platform that funds the installation and maintenance of energy efficiency and captive generation projects for C&I customers across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Spark works with experienced developers across Africa, providing partners with up to 100% upfront financing - as well as the tools, contracts and training - required to enable these projects to get built.

We think the approach could be a potential game-changer for developers in the sector. And by providing access to a diversified portfolio of clean energy projects across Africa, it also presents a new opportunity for investors looking to make climate-positive investments with a strong, transparent and robustly measured ESG profile.
