Dear <<First Name>>

I don’t often get the chance to say “hot off the press” here, but I am delighted to tell you that as of a few minutes ago our latest impact report, Camco’s Impact in 2021, has been published.

For over 30 years, Camco has been at the forefront of action to combat climate change, having been involved in more than 200 transactions in nearly 30 countries. Between them they mobilise USD 3.7bn from private and public sector funders for over 1.6GW of renewable energy capacity that mitigates 82 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.1 That’s the same as planting over 4 billion trees or taking 20 million cars off the road for a year.

They are also expected to result in 2.2m people being connected to electricity for the first time (more than 840,000 have already been connected) and improve the energy supply of a further 13.3m people. To find out more about Camco’s impact, please check out the report here

2021 was an especially busy year for Camco and I am proud of the many achievements highlighted in the report. My heartfelt thanks go to all of the amazing people in the Camco teams for their unwavering support and commitment our objectives and values.

With Q2 2022 already upon us, our focus continues to be on increasing REPP’s impact, while working to develop the Camco-created Spark Energy Services and TIDES facilities to broaden our impact into new sectors and geographies. We’ll report back on how we got on this time next year!

Cheers

Geoff Sinclair

Story of the week

According to a recent report from Ember, wind and solar generated over a tenth (10.3%) of global electricity for the first time in 2021, up from 9.3% in 2020 and twice the share compared to 2015, when the Paris Climate Agreement was signed (4.6%).
